STELLA-1.2 Base Platform
The STELLA-1.2 represents the latest evolution in NASA's Science and Technology Education for Land/Light Assessment instrument suite, designed for scientific engagement, inquiry, and discovery. Built to support a wide range of customizable sensor packages, the STELLA-1.2 enhances data collection with integrated GPS location services and wifi capability.

STELLA-1.2 Remote Sensing Module
The STELLA-RS (Remote Sensing) Module features an 18-band spectral sensor array capturing wavelengths from 410nm to 940nm, complemented by a broad-band thermal sensor and a 6-meter Ultrasonic Rangefinder for accurate distance measurements. The thoughtfully designed 3D-printed housing includes a specialized compartment for cuvette placement, enabling liquid spectroscopy applications. This versatile module expands STELLA-1.2's capabilities, making it an ideal tool for environmental monitoring, plant health assessment, and educational demonstrations across various scientific disciplines.

STELLA-1.2 Air Analyzer1 Module
The STELLA-AA1 (Science and Technology Education for Land/Life Assessment - Air Analyzer) is a low-cost, air sensing module that measures humidity, air temperature, barometric pressure, carbon dioxide concentration, methane, and air quality particulates, contributing directly to NASA Earth science investigations of the atmosphere. The STELLA-AA1 is fully swappable in the STELLA-1.2 and will function with any subset of its sensors, allowing builders to customize the instrument, making it an accessible entry point for participating in real-world, participatory science and data collection. By engaging a broad community of builders and data collectors, the STELLA-AA1 supports workforce development by giving the next generation of scientists and engineers hands-on experience with instrument design, environmental monitoring, and data analysis.

STELLA-1.2 Prototyping Module
The STELLA Prototyping Module provides connections needed to power a wide range of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) sensors, making it a foundation for developing your custom scientific instrument. Designed with innovation in mind, this versatile module features an open-top and open-bottom housing specifically engineered to accommodate various sensor attachments using simple tape or Velcro mounting. The module will soon be complemented by a curated selection of supported off-the-shelf sensors, expanding its capabilities even further. The STELLA Prototyping Module offers the flexibility and accessibility to bring your measurement ideas to life within the STELLA ecosystem.
