Supernova Remnants
Astrophysics: Supernovae & SNRsUses imaging and spectral analysis of supernova remnants (SNRs) to link their observed properties to the predictions of various supernova theories and simulations. These findings can be used to place constrains on the origins of individual supernovae, identify trends associated with certain types of explosions, and test the feasibility and likelihoods of theoretical supernova scenarios.
Additionally, Tyler's research has involved studying the compact objects embedded within certain SNRs. These objects' properties (and existence) can be compared to the properties of the host SNR to greatly aid in understanding its origin and explosion physics.
