Open Science

Through a commitment to open science the 675 lab creates everything a scientist needs to get started using one of our developed data products. We transform raw measurements from NASA missions into usable data sets accessible by everyone and preserved for future generations. Because of s leadership in implementing s Heliophysics open data policy the lab is a hub for open-source development of data products, algorithms for data processing, metadata descriptions, and documentation for every aspect of the data and processing.

Members of our lab participate in and lead the development and implementation of documentation standards through the The Space Physics Archive Search and Extract (SPASE) effort, the International Heliophysics Data Environment Alliance (IHDEA), and the COSPAR/ISWAT.

We are committed to data services and support the NASA Heliophysics digital resource library (HDRL) consisting of the HDMC/HPDE, SPDF and SDAC, with the CCMC as a partner. We support the Heliophysics Digital Observatory (HDO). Beyond developing and implementing standards we go one step further assists anyone who is preparing data and metadata for archival and broad access through open source development of projects like PySat that are used as a foundation for a data archival pipeline.
