ProgramDescriptionApplication Deadline
The Scientific and Engineering Student Internship (SESI) The SESI program is a joint program with the Physics Department of the Catholic University of America (CUA), ASD/GSFC and Science and Exploration Directorate at GSFC. Student opportunities are open in all divisions of the Science and Exploration Directorate including the Astrophysics Science Division (ASD), the Earth-Sun Exploration Division, the Laboratory for Solar and Space Physics, the Solar System Exploration Division and other research. April 30, 2011 (US Citizens)
OSSI:SOLAR OSSI:SOLAR is a NASA-wide system for the recruitment, application, selection and career development of undergraduate and graduate students primarily in science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines. Opportunities for students in other disciplines are available. March 15, 2011
The NASA Academy The NASA Academy represents an immersive and integrated multidisciplinary exposure and training, for students with various backgrounds and career aspirations of critical importance to the National aerospace program. The academic curriculum balances opportunities for direct contact with advanced science and engineering R&D and an awareness of the complex managerial, political, financial, social, and human issues faced by the current and future aerospace programs. Please check the point of contact on the site for current year information.
The Student Internship Project (SIP) NASA SIP is designed for students whose primary interest is in space related research. SIP is an intensive 10-week summer research program for diverse undergraduate and graduate students interested in careers in aerospace-related fields. SIP brings students from universities to GSFC to support ongoing research projects generally by participating in a project that has received an award from the Director's Discretionary Fund (DDF). Students team with a Principal Investigator (PI) at GSFC for cutting edge research in science or engineering. The students may have the opportunity to participate in field trips to other NASA Centers, as well as to local space industry sites. Please check the point of contact on the site for current year information.
American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) The AISES Intern Program is a 10-week summer program that provides qualified AISES students with internship opportunities to explore potential federal service with NASA and gain hands-on experience in their field of study. The internship is a student learning work experience in which the intern is paired with a mentor from Goddard's scientific or engineering laboratories through a match between the Lab's requirements for a project and the student's background, academic level and interests.
