    Dr. Akella works at the Global Modeling and Assimilation Office (GMAO). His research focuses on the development, testing and operational integration of the next generation atmosphere-ocean coupled, Integrated Earth Analysis System (IESA), with emphasis on the ocean and ocean-atmosphere coupling.
