Brief Bio

Joshua Schlieder is a Research Astrophysicist in the Exoplanets and Stellar Astrophysics Laboratory at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. His roles include Operations Project Scientist for the Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory and Support Scientist in the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) Guest Investigator Program office. Josh's research interests fall under the broad heading of time-domain astronomy; with a focus on time series photometry to understand stellar rotation and flares, identify transiting exoplanets, and study other transient phenomena. His most recent work involves the discovery and characterization of transiting planets around the closest low-mass stars using TESS and the development of new time-domain missions for the multimessenger era.
