Brief Bio
PI, GSFC Infrared Remote Sensing Laboratory
co-I, GSFC In Situ Measurements Laboratory
Lab Manager, GSFC In Situ Measurements Laboratory
Current Projects
US network of EM27/SUN spectrometers
Earth's Atmosphere
I am leading the creation of a ground-based IR remote sensing spectrometer network in the US to measure total column abundances of trace gases in the Earth's atmosphere. Our measurements will improve satellite validation and inversion model evaluation, as well as provide data sets for scientific analysis.
Airborne measurements of reactive trace gases
Atmospheric Chemistry
Instrument development
Previously I led successful in situ instrument development projects for measuring NO2 and formaldehyde. I am currently leading the development of the next generation in situ formaldehyde instrument and assisting in the development of miniaturized instruments for NO2 and O3.
Field campaigns
I have served as instrument PI for in situ measurements of formaldehyde, NO2, and O3 on numerous aircraft field campaigns, including ASIA-AQ (NO2, O3, co-I for HCHO), MAGEQ (NO2, HCHO), and DCOTSS (NO2, HCHO, co-I for O3). I was co-I for formaldehyde measurements on numerous campaigns including ACCLIP, ATOM, and AEROMMA, and I am currently a co-I for the NO2 measurement on the FarmFlux small aircraft.
