Dr. Gershman is a Research Astrophysicist in the Geospace Physics Laboratory at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. His research focuses on the development of charged particle instrumentation and on the analysis of charged plasma data collected in planetary magnetospheres and ionospheres, including Earth, Mercury, Jupiter, and Uranus. He currently serves as the Instrument Lead for the Fast Plasma Investigation (FPI) on NASA's Magnetospheric Multiscale (MMS) mission, the Instrument Principal Investigator for the Electron Electrostatic Analyzer (EEA) on NASA's Heliophysics Environmental and Radiation Measurement Experiment Suite (HERMES), and the Instrument Principal Investigator for the Comprehensive Auroral Precipitation Experiment (CAPE) on NASA's Geospace Dynamics Constellation (GDC) mission.
