Brief Bio

Carolyn Ng is an education specialist in the Heliophysics Science Division who also supports heliophysics data inventory. As a team member of the NASA Heliophysics Education Activation Team (NASA HEAT), she works with co-I's at GSFC and across the country to curate and develop education resources for learners of all ages. One of the tasks is to support NASA in its solar eclipse coordination efforts. She has been responsible for a number of outreach activities and internship programs. Prior to the current position, she was an acquisition scientist for the National Space Science Data Center. Since 2000 she has co-led the Sun-Earth Day program that brings space science content to many educators, museums, parks and the general public. She partnered with the City University of New York (CUNY) on internships, educator training, and use of heliophysics data in the classroom. For two consecutive summers she was the co-Investigator of a College Freshman Internship Program. She managed a high school work-study program for seven years and provided several underserved students with authentic research opportunities in Heliophysics. She is the Principal Investigator for the Space Weather Living History project.
