Brief Bio

Dr. Yonggang Yu works on software implementation for data assimilation. He previously implemented MAPL sampler codes to regrid GEOS dynamic variables to time-dependent geometry (e.g., station, swath, trajectory, geostationary image, and mask) within the ESMF framework. His former research experience includes software implementation for JEDI-MPAS, GPU programming for FV3 dynamics (tp_core), and implementing Arakawa A-grid and C-grid shallow-water models on icosahedral grids for Exascale computing.
