Philippe received his Master degree in Solid State Physics in 1991 from Université de Sherbrooke in Canada, and completed his PhD in Remote Sensing academic program in CARTEL from the same University.
Before his graduation, in 1996 he started a Remote Sensing Laboratory in a Research Center of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC, from 1996-1998). He served as Remote Sensing Applications Analyst in Canada Space Agency in Montreal (1999-2000) before he moved to USA.
From 2001 to 2006, he worked as contracted Physical Scientist in STAR/NOAA, conducting the OMPS-LP algorithms reviews and evaluations as an adviser member in Ozone Operation Algorith TEAM (OAT) in NPP/NPOESS program.
From 2007 to 2008, he was a Lead Engineer of Operation Research in Algorithms Division at IPO of NPOESS program. His research journey with NASA started in early 2009 with GMAO/GSFC in Atmosphere Data Assimilation, specifically for OMPS Limb Profiler Ozone and MLS Ozone Assimilation. Currently, Philippe is working with OMPS-LP science and operation team for Ozone Mapping and Profile Suite Limb Profiler project.
