Brief Bio


I have joined GSFC/HSD in 2010 after working for several years at the
Naval Research Laboratory. I received my PhD in Austria at the University
in Graz. I got my post-doc experience in Germany and working at the
European Space Agency (ESA/ESTEC) in the Netherlands.

My scientific interests cover a very broad range of topics in solar physics
including solar magnetic field measurements, flows and dynamics of
the lower atmosphere, formation and evolution of filaments, initiation
of coronal mass ejections and Space Weather forecasting.

I am specialized in observational solar physics. As such I have hands-on
experience with ground-based solar telescopes as well as analysing
data from NASA space missions like SoHO, TRACE, Hinode, STEREO,
SDO and IRIS.
