Dr. Dorelli received his undergraduate degree (BS in Physics) from Purdue University in 1993. He received his Ph.D in physics, working with advisor Jack D. Scudder, from the University of Iowa in 1999, after which he worked for several years as a postdoc at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. Dr. Dorelli was a member of the research faculty of the Space Science Center at the University of New Hampshire for six years before coming to NASA-GSFC as a civil servant in 2009.
