Brief Bio

Dr. Park is a scientist at the Goddard Planetary Heliophysics Institute (GPHI) contracted to NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), specializing in the heliosheath and the very local interstellar medium. He holds a PhD in Physics from the University of New Hampshire (2016), preceded by a MS in Physics from Central Michigan University (2010) and a BA in Physics from Chung-Ang University (2004). His doctoral research focused on "Investigating the interstellar and heliospheric heavy neutral atoms with IBEX-Lo." Dr. Park's expertise includes simulating and analyzing energetic neutral atom (ENA) fluxes using Interstellar Boundary Explorer (IBEX) data and analyzing magnetic field data from the Voyager mission, where he has served as a science co-investigator for the Magnetometer team since 2016. He has also contributed to the Solar wind with Hydrogen Ion charge Exchange and Large-Scale Dynamics (SHIELD) NASA Drive Center since 2024. Dr. Park has authored or co-authored over 20 scientific publications and is a member of the American Geophysical Union and a referee for several journals.
