Brief Bio

Gabriella is an isotope geochemist who in interested in uncovering the information recorded within molecules. Molecules contain clues about their synthesis as well as the environmental conditions surrounding their formation which are useful to environmental and planetary sciences, medical science, food science, archaeology, and many other fields. Currently, Gabriella measures the carbon and hydrogen isotope signatures of organic compounds to understand past hydrological change and distinguish between living and abiotic, chemical processes.
