Brief Bio


 Dr Zesta is the Chief of the Geospace Physics Laboratory in the Heliophysics Division since November 2012. Before that she was a Senior Research Physicist at the Air Force Research Laboratory.

Eftyhia is an expert in Solar Wind-Magnetosphere-Ionosphere-Thermosphere coupling and integration of Space flight observations with ground instrumentation and facility observations. Her research and work experience also spans the Academic environment (Associate Researcher at UCLA, PI of the SAMBA magnetometer chain) as well as the DoD side (science PI of the “Ionospheric Effects on RF communications” program at AFRL), thus holding a unique perspective from fundamental research, to effects on human life, to transition to operational products and has worked on many intra-agency teams and research to operations missions.
