Brief Bio

Dr. Le is an Associate Research Scientist at SAIC (Science Applications International Corp.) and a contractor in the Hydrological Sciences Laboratory at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. He is involved in numerous projects at the intersection of remote sensing, hydrology, and agriculture, with an emphasis on the science application of the Soil Moisture Active and Passive (SMAP) mission. Prior to his current roles, he worked as a hydrologist at the Vietnam National Center for Water Resources Planning and Investigation (NAWAPI), and obtained a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Virginia.

Current Projects

Dynamic Agricultural Productivity Indicator

Develop a SMAP-based NDVI forecasting index to support vegetation health monitoring and crop yield forecasting

Upper Missouri River Basin Data Value Study.

Assess whether using Upper Missouri River Basin observational data to adjust the SMAP (Soil Moisture Active Passive) satellite data assimilation can provide improved model characterizations of fire-prone landscapes.
