Larry R. Nittler
Carnegie Institution of Washington

  • BA in Physics from Cornell in 1991
    Ph.D in Physics from Washington University in St. Louis in 1996
    (doctoral research was on circumstellar dust grains in meteorites)
  • 1996-1998: postdoctoral fellow at the Carnegie Institution of Washington for two years
  • In early 1999, joined Jack Trombka's group in LEP to work on the NEAR x-ray/gamma-ray spectrometer
  • In March, 2001, left GSFC to take a permanent position at the Carnegie Institution, where he is primarily engaged in meteorite research.
