Dr. Tom Essinger-Hileman is an Astrophysicist in the Observational Cosmology Lab at the Goddard Space Flight Center whose research focuses on understanding the origin, contents, and evolution of our universe through observations of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) and other diffuse backgrounds. He currently works on the ground-based CLASS and balloon-borne PIPER CMB experiments, the EXCLAIM balloon-borne intensity-mapping experiment, and the development of novel balloon platforms for sub-mm and far-IR astrophysics through the BOBCAT technology demonstration platform.
