Brief Bio

Since October 2022 I have been a Senior Research Scientist at Morgan State University in Goddard Earth Sciences Technology and Research II (GESTAR-II) and work at the Global Modeling and Assimilation Office (GMAO) of NASA Goddard Space Flight Center developing the next generation land reanalysis system. Prior to this I worked at the Joint Center for Satellite Data Assimilation (JCSDA) in Boulder, Colorado, from July 2019 leading efforts in land surface model data assimilation as Land Project Lead. I have conducted research in this field for the last two decades through a variety of projects focused on the roles of land surface processes in the coupled Earth System. Originally from Manchester, UK, I have degrees in Geography and Hydrology from the University of Oxford, the University of Colorado - Boulder, and a PhD from the University of Cambridge. I have worked as a researcher at a number of universities in the UK and in the US. I have strong connections with NCAR where I was a visiting scientist for several years developing a data assimilation system for the Community Land Model.
