Brief Bio


Dr. Ferrell is the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center Earth Science Education and Public Outreach Lead.

 

She attended North Penn High School in Lansdale and she attended St. Jean Private College in Tonneins, France. She attended Albright College in Reading, PA where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Premedical Sciences. Later, she earned a MS degree in Developmental Biology from American University in Washington, DC.

 

Prior to joining the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center Earth Science Division, she was with the Office of Communications and an Education Specialist in Goddard’s Office of Education for over 10 years. She also was a NASA Aerospace Education Services Program Specialist (AESP) and the NASA Explorer Schools Workshop Coordinator. She taught Science at the Maya Angelou Public Charter School in Washington, DC and was their Internship Coordinator. In addition, she taught Honors Chemistry and Biology at Gaithersburg High School in Montgomery County, Maryland. She presently is an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland, teaching Biology and Environmental Science.


She earned her PhD in Environmental Sciences from Oklahoma State University.
