|Hard X-ray Polarization Observations by PoGO+ Balloon-Borne Experiment
Dr. Hiromitsu Takahashi (Hiroshima University)
PoGO+ balloon-borne hard X-ray polarimeter is an international mission between Sweden and Japan. The detector consists of 61 segmented plastic scintillators to observe Compton scattered and photoabsorption events simultaneously, to measure the azimuthal scattering anisotropy caused by the polarization. There were two scientific flights in 2013 and 2016 from Sweden in Arctic region. We present the detector concept, flight status and observational results of these PoGO+ flights.
