    11/2011 - Present

    Senior Research Scientist

Science Systems and Applications, Inc. (SSAI), Greenbelt, MD
    • Operate and analyze data from over 40 instruments for characterization of atmospheric aerosols and clouds for various NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (NASA-GSFC) SMARTLabs’ field campaigns (https://smartlabs.gsfc.nasa.gov) .
    • Develop code to acquire, calibrate, process, analyze, visualize, and archive time series and spatial data from individual instruments.
    • Design problem-solving procedures to test and correct sensors in the field.
    • Current research focused on: (1) long-range transport of biomass burning aerosols, (2) aerosols and human health, (3) cloud-aerosol-precipitation interactions, (4) multi-frequency remote sensing, and (5) satellite validation.

    3/2010 - 5/2011

    Graduate Research Assistant

Center for Ocean Atmospheric Prediction Studies, Tallahassee, FL
    • Utilized 2D-mapping software (GrADS) to compile, process, statistically analyze, and visualize several years of large climate-related (NCEP R2, CFSR, MERRA) datasets to understand hydrological (moisture) processes and biases within reanalyses on interannual and intraseasonal time scales.

    Education

    • 2011, M.S. in Meteorology, Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL.
    • 2008, B.A. conc. in Biological Sciences, Florida Atlantic University, Jupiter, FL.

    Current Projects

    SMARTLabs Mobile Laboratories

    • NASA SMARTLabs host a broad range of instruments, exceeding fifty active/passive sensors for the measurement of solar and terrestrial radiation, in-situ observation of physico-chemical properties of aerosols and precursor gases, and remote sensing of cloud-aerosol-precipitation interactions.
