    Value of Information

    My research focuses on how to combine remote senising observations and dynamical systems models to improve our understanding of terrestrial hydrology. Typically this is via parameter estiation, data assimilation, system identification, and machine learning.

    More broadly, I am interested in understanding scientific uncertainty and in measuring value of information. I have explored these issues from philosophical, theoretical, and applied perspectives. Currently I work with the SMAP Applications team to help quantify the value and societal impact of SMAP mission data products.
