  • Brief Bio

Research Meteorologist and Computer System Administrator and NASA Goddard Space Flight Center
since 1981.  Worked on satellite data analysis from GOES data using the Visible and Infrared Spin Scan Radiometer (VISSR) Atmospheric Sounder (VAS) in the 1980's.  Worked on satellite data analysis from the Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer (TOMS), Solar Back Scattered Ultra-Violet (SBUV), and Ozone Monitoring Instrment (OMI) in the 1990's to the present.  Computer System Administrator for Unix, Irix, and Linux operating system workstations and Windows platforms since the 1990's.  Assistant Computer Security Official (ACSO) for the Atmospheric Chemistry and Dynamics Branch since the mid 2000's.

    Current Projects

Atmospheric Chemistry and Dynamics Branch Ozone and Aerosol Trends

Analyzing trends in total ozone from several satellite-based ozone instruments (TOMS, SBUV, OMI, OMPS).  Analyzing trends and composition of atmospheric aerosols and clouds using the results from the same satellite instruments.

    Computer System Administrator

Computer System Administrator for twelve Linux workstations in the Atmospheric Chemistry and Dynamics Branch (Code 614) used to collect, process, and analyze satellite and ground-based data used in ozone, atmospheric constituent, and aerosol data.  Maintenance and curator for two web sites and one anonymous ftp server used to collect and distribute data and data products to the science community and to the general public.  Computer System Administrator for Windows 7 computers. Maintain computer system security on all systems as the Assistant Computer Security Official (ACSO) for Code 614.
