Ruth Lieberman has been a Research Astrophysicist with code 675 since August 2018. Her research focuses on atmospheric tides, planetary waves, gravity waves, and their roles in coupling the neutral atmosphere to the thermosphere-ionosphere. Ruth has worked with data from the LIMS, UARS, TIMED, EOS-Aura, AIM, CHAMP, GOCE, ICON and GOLD missions. She is presently the mission scientist for ICON and AWE. Ruth is a former chief editor of the Journal of Geophysical Research (Atmospheres), and is currently the editor for the middle, uppe, and planetary atmospheres section of the 3rd edition of the Encyclopedia of Atmospheric Sciences (Elsevier, 2025).
