Rick Clark is a software engineer in the Ocean Ecology Laboratory (OEL) at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Here, he has worked for the Ocean Biology Processing Group (OBPG) since 2022 and is part of both the Web and Cloud teams. He designed and maintains the current Ocean Color website, and serves as a part of the EarthData Web Unification Team to help transition & integrate the website to EarthData. Clark served as a member of the OB.DAAC Cloud Migration Team, where he worked with AWS cloud experts to have PACE satellite forward-stream data pushed up to the cloud. As an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, he continues to help migrate other forward-stream and legacy missions to run through AWS workflows so that the data can be accessed by the public from the cloud. Rick's primary responsibilities revolve around identifying & fixing problems with data files that were not properly ingested, keeping the cloud structures organized, and writing scripts and automations to improve productivity. Outside of this, Clark was selected to be a member of the Ingest & Archive (I&A) Tiger Team, and within that, the I&A Efficiency Analysis Team. He has also served on the Science Systems and Applications, Inc. Dependent Scholarship Committee since 2023, which is of personal significance to him, as he is wrapping up his own Bachelor of Science degree in Business (Information Systems).
