Brief Bio

Dr. Bailing Li is an assistant research scientist with the Hydrological Sciences Laboratory at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Her research interest includes using remote sensing, in situ and modeling data to understand variability and changes in the hydrological cycle and providing satellite data based drought monitoring capabilities to users using data assimilation techniques. She was the lead researcher on assimilating GRACE/GRACE FO data into the NASA Catchment land surface model for global groundwater and drought monitoring (https://nasagrace.unl.edu/) and one of the lead developers on the Western Land Data Assimilation System (WLDAS, https://ldas.gsfc.nasa.gov/wldas/wldas-project-goals).
