Brief Bio

Dr. Mallinson serves as the ESD Airborne Sciences Commercial Aviation Services (CAS) Specialist. She assists scientists across all ESD branches with the planning and execution of airborne campaigns, particularly those utilizing CAS vendors and UAV/UAS. She regularly coordinates with scientists, project managers, instrument teams, CAS operators, and numerous NASA offices and review boards and has expertise in the airworthiness review process and the necessary federal, agency, and center procedural requirements in order to conduct airborne campaigns.

Her research interests lie in cloud dynamic and microphysical processes, deep convective storms, and microphysical parameterizations within numerical models, including how observational datasets can be used to improve these parameterizations and their subsequent representation of clouds and precipitation.
