I study how the Arctic and Antarctica sea ice interacts with the synoptic scale weather events, with a specific focus on extratropical cyclones in the Arctic. By utilizing wide array of satellite, reanalysis and modeling data I aim to better understand these interactions, variability in the sea ice pack as well as the specifics of polar cyclones. In addition, I aim to develop and utilize the best ML methods to do this work, and gain the most out of the available data we have in the polar regions.
