Michael Shay received his PhD from the University
of Maryland in December 1998.  Since that time, he
has continued working at the University of Maryland,
first as a post-doc, and now as an assistant
research scientist.  The focus of his research is
primarily on the study of magnetic reconnection
using full particle, hybrid, and multi-fluid
simulations.
