Current R&D Areas

image showning mean monthly cases of infectionInvestigate the environmental and climatic dependency of infectious disease transmission using remotely sensed geophysical parameters to model the transmission risks and to predict disease outbreaks. The main infectious diseases studied include malaria (Thailand, Indonesia and Afghanistan), avian influenza (Indonesia), and seasonal influenza (the tropics, the subtropics and the US).

Develop a Data Quality Screening Service (DQSS) to provide an easy-to-use Web Service to apply quality screening criteria to data from the AIRS and MODIS instruments, incorporating the respective science team's recommendations. Point-of-Contact: Dr. Chris Lynnes
