Overview

The Solar System Exploration Data Services Office (SSEDSO) coordinates the management and archiving of NASA space science data. As part of this mission, the Office operates the National Space Science Data Center (NSSDC) and provides requested guidance to the science active archive centers.

The NSSDC provides master catalogs, data standards, and other information services. It oversees the preservation of NASA space science data for the next generation of researchers. The Center ensures access to existing and future NASA space science archives.

NSSDC also hosts the World Data Center for Satellite Information, which distributes a broad range of space science satellite data and information. The SSEDSO provides management oversight for the Crustal Dynamics Data Information System and the Planetary Data System.
