Brief Bio

To study and improve metrics for monitoring forest disturbance and recovery using Landsat satellite imagery.

Current Projects

Science investigation of EO-1 and Landsat imagery to evaluate benefits of merging data.

Remote Sensing

• Perform data processing, atmospheric correction, and analysis on selected Landsat and EO-1 imagery, including archival Landsat data and archival Hyperion and/or Advanced Land Imager (ALI) data.
• Assemble integrated time series for Landsat and EO-1 data for selected regions of interest, and evaluate/quantify the benefits of merging these data.
• Evaluate the benefit of additional spectral bands for detecting and mapping tree mortality.

NGA commercial data distribution project

Land Cover/Use

• Working with the USGS & NGA to obtain high resolution commercial data.
• Acting as liaison between the NASA land science community and the NGA archives.
