    Brief Bio

    Haris Riris joined GSFC as contractor in 1999.  He became a civil servant in 2005 in the Laser Remote Sensing Branch. Prior to GSFC he held positions at SRI International in Menlo Park, CA  and  semiconductor and bioetechnology companies in Silicon Valley.  His research interests include high sensitivity laser spectroscopy, LIDAR, laser altimetry and trace gas detection applications to earth and planetray science.

    CO2 Sounder Group Achievement Award, (accepted from the center director on behalf of the team) for demonstrating the feasibility of the laser sounding technique and its potential for a future missions and advancing NASA’s goals in understanding climate change.

    NASA Group Achievement Honor Award for the GLAS Anomaly Review Board (GARB).
    LRO-LOLA Group Achievement Award for his contributions to the LOLA team and the LRO mission.
