Talk-Research Opportunities on GSFC/WFF Aircraft |
|
| "Up, Up, and Away! - Research Opportunities on GSFC/WFF Aircraft" Mike Cropper and Geoff Bland Abstract: The Airborne Science Program, within the Earth Science Division, provides both NASA and commercial aircraft that can be used to benefit the science community. These manned and unmanned aircraft carry sensors that provide data to support and augment NASA spaceborne missions. There are several aircraft at GSFC's Wallops Flight Facility that are useful for instrument test flights and research missions supporting the Goddard community. This talk will provide an overview of opportunities and general practices to ease access to these unique airborne platforms. The goal is to encourage dialog among scientists, instrument developers and mission planners for capitalizing on these valuable assets. |
