    Dr. Hongbin Yu is senior research scientist at the Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center (ESSIC), University of Maryland, who works in the Climate and Radiation Laboratory of NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) . Prior to joining ESSIC in June 2010, he had worked at the Goddard Earth Science and Technology (GEST) Center, a joint center of GSFC and University of Maryland at Baltimore County, and at School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, Georgia Tech. Throughout his career, Dr. Yu has been studying the diffusion and transport of air pollutants and their environmental and climate impacts from local to regional to continental to global scale. In most recent years, he has been conducting satellite and model integrated studies of aerosol long-range transport and impacts on climate and air quality. His publications cover topics of aerosol intercontinental transport, aerosol assimilation, aerosol direct radiative forcing, impacts of aerosols on land-atmosphere interactions, aerosol-clouds-precipitation interactions, tropospheric ozone chemistry, atmospheric dispersion modeling, and air pollution and boundary layer meteorology over complex terrain.

    Brief Bio

    Dr. Hongbin Yu is senior research scientist at the Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center (ESSIC), University of Maryland, who works in the Climate and Radiation Laboratory of NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) . Prior to joining ESSIC in June 2010, he had worked at the Goddard Earth Science and Technology (GEST) Center, a joint center of GSFC and University of Maryland at Baltimore County, and at School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, Georgia Tech. Throughout his career, Dr. Yu has been studying the diffusion and transport of air pollutants and their environmental and climate impacts from local to regional to continental to global scale. In most recent years, he has been conducting satellite and model integrated studies of aerosol long-range transport and impacts on climate and air quality. His publications cover topics of aerosol intercontinental transport, aerosol assimilation, aerosol direct radiative forcing, impacts of aerosols on land-atmosphere interactions, aerosol-clouds-precipitation interactions, tropospheric ozone chemistry, atmospheric dispersion modeling, and air pollution and boundary layer meteorology over complex terrain.
