Collaborations: NASA GSFC Space Weather Center
Collaboration with the US Air Force Weather AgencyWe provide state-of-the-art simulations and forecasts of coronal mass ejections, also called "space hurricanes". All simulations are carried out in our supercomputing facility at GSFC.
Collaborations with EPRI, DHS, and DoE: Safeguarding the Power Grid
The Solar Shield System provides information about space weather storm impacts on the North American power transmission system. It is carried out in collaboration with the Electric Power Research Institute, taking advantage of the advanced, first-principle large scale models hosted at CCMC.
We are working with the DHS (Department of Homeland Security) and DoE (Department of Energy) on further improving and refining our forecasting capabilities regarding space weather impacts on the power grid.

Other Collaborations in Space Weather Related Activities
Further collaborations include private space weather industry, the Space Radiation Analysis Group at Johnson Space Center, the Radiation Effects and Analysis Group and Robotic System Protection Office at Goddard Space Flight Center, and the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center.
Our international partnerships of mutual benefits include the Belgian Institute for Space Aeronomy (BIRA), the European Space Agency (ESA), the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), NICT (National Institute of Information and Communications Technology) of Japan, the Korean Meteorological Administration (KMA), Korean Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI), the Skobeltsyn Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP) of Moscow State University (MSU), the University of Rome Tor Vergata and others. Since collaboration is our creed, we expect to see expansion of the list.
